Indiana Jones might have been a man, but the real-life version of him is actually a woman.  Dr. Alexandra Jones is an archaeologist who has unearthed many rare artifacts, from the luxurious homes of elite female rulers in ancient civilizations, to gems hiding in a city that’s speculated to be made entirely from gold. Her aim in searching for these artifacts is to give people of the past a voice, including the disenfranchised,. She runs a program known as AITC to teach tweens and teens the basics of her field. She wrote “Getting Their Hands Dirty: Archaeology and Youth” about this organization, and its famous Four-week program, which is emphasized throughout the literature.
