Veterans Day is November 11, there are a variety of veterans events happening in November, check them out below:

Veterans Family Day
Nov. 6, 11 a.m.- 2 p.m., Reverend Samuel Delevoe Park, 2520 NW 6th St., Fort Lauderdale

To honor those who served and their families, Broward County Parks, Municipal Services District, Elderly and Veterans Services Division, and the Libraries Division have joined forces to offer a free day of appreciation. Activities will include entertainment, games and raffles, resources, and food. We recommend attendees follow CDC guidelines for social distancing, hand sanitizing, and wearing facial covering. Other sponsors include South Florida Institute on Aging, Broward Sherriff, Memorial Healthcare System, CarePlus Health Plans, Humana, Mission United, United Way of Broward County, YEA!, and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affair.

Veterans Day Ceremony
Nov. 11, 10:30 a.m., Veterans Memorial Park, 7044 NW 1st St, Margate
Join us as we honor our military veterans for their dedicated and loyal service to our country. We’ll salute all the men and women who have fought for our country’s freedom. The Veterans Day Essay contest winners will read their essays and will be recognized during the ceremony. Free and open to the public.

Florida Soil to its Skies
Nov. 11, 9-10 a.m. at Kristin Jacobs Natural Area at Hillsboro Pineland, 5591 NW 74th Pl., Coconut Creek

Vets Rock, Swamp Walk
Nov. 12 & Nov. 14, 10-11 a.m. Fern Forest Nature Center, 201 Lyons Rd. South, Coconut Creek

Come appreciate nature because we appreciate you! Join us for a free guided nature walk along our Cypress Creek Boardwalk Trail. Explore tropical hardwood hammock and cypress maple swamp communities, while learning about the unique species that are found there. The tour will begin in the nature center building.

The Colors of Nature Veteran’s Walk
Nov. 12, 10-11:30 a.m. Deerfield Island Park, 1720 Deerfield Island Park, Deerfield Beach

Come appreciate Nature because we appreciate you! Enjoy a free Naturalist-led hike as we identify native red, white, and blue plants that can be found at Deerfield Island Park.

Arrive at Sullivan Park, 1633 Riverview Rd, Deerfield Beach, FL 33441 by 9:50 a.m. to catch the shuttle to the island.

Florida Fires!
Nov. 12, 9-10 a.m. Highlands Scrub Natural Area, 4050 N. Dixie Hwy., Pompano Beach

Veterans and their families can enjoy a free naturalist-led hike exploring how fires play an important role in Florida Scrub Ecosystems and how the unique plants and animals thrive there.
