Juneteenth Love

This year marked the first year that Broward County celebrated the Juneteenth holiday. It is now a federal holiday, thanks to President Joe Biden. It has been observed as a day of freedom in Pompano Beach for many years with the Sweet Potatoe festival held at Apollo Park, XX.

It’s a festive occasion that recognizes the liberation of slaves in the United States. This year, many other cities expanded their efforts and held their own celebrations. Here is a photo recap.
