Incumbent Focused on Public Safety
Tom McMahon was born and raised in Pompano Beach. He was part of the first graduating class of Pompano Beach High School as a magnet high school in 2001. If elected, he would like to continue to work to reduce homelessness, smart and stable redevelopment, and keeping public safety a top priority. On the dais, McMahon fought against the original Atlantic Blvd. lane closure plan, according to his campaign website, launched the peer counselor program for those who have finished rehab and need to reconnect with their families, worked with Broward Sheriff’s Office to start rapid rehousing programs, started a Community Court, created the Community Outreach Response Enforcement Team (COREteam), added more law enforcement officers city-wide, and regulated sober homes and short-term “party house” rentals, according to his campaign website.
