Engineer to Put a Red Light on Traffic Trouble

Alison Fournier’s campaign is about improving infrastructure, neighborhood safety, affordability, and reducing traffic nightmares.

“I want to represent the people of Pompano Beach. The commission should work for the people and represent our vision for the city. I want to address the everyday concerns of people,” Fournier told Villij News.

If elected, she plans to develop a balance between development, strengthening the city’s infrastructure — including roads, bridges, and water and sewer systems, and residents’ quality of life.

She has also been very vocal against the city’s plan to reduce lanes, and would like to create an alternative plan for the proposed downtown walking corridor and reduce cut-through traffic in neighborhoods.

She plans to keep the city’s integrity intact and not sell out the developers while focusing on sensible growth, reducing crime and homelessness, strengthening youth programs, controlling government spending, and increasing property taxes.

Fournier is originally from the Midwest but has been a resident of Pompano Beach since 2011. She attended Princeton University and earned a Bachelor of Science & Engineering Degree in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering with a minor in Computer Science. Fournier later worked as an engineer at Boeing, designing commercial airplanes before earning a Master of Science degree in Aeronautics & Astronautics Engineering with a concentration in Fluid Dynamics. She also earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and worked as an investment banker.

Now she’s a realtor with LoKation Real Estate. She is married with two children and enjoys spending time on the water, cooking, and coaching youth sports. Fournier was endorsed by the Sun Sentinel.
