Upon first glance at Angalia Bianca, you would never guess her history. Over a decade ago, Bianca was in a gang, addicted to heroine, and living on the streets of Chicago. For nearly four decades, she lived this lifestyle. Years later, she witnessed a shooting with young teens in her hometown, and risked her life to save a victim, putting pressure on his gunshot wound and ultimately receiving a Resolution for Bravery Award in helping him survive. Today, she’s recovered and sober, working for anti-violence group CeaseFire/CureViolence, an initiative to end gun violence in Chicago via mediation, relationship building, and prevention measures. Her memoir “In Deep” is a staggering and inspiring recount of someone who started from Ground Zero without a moral compass, who became an iconic and inspiring role model through sheer willpower and determination to change the world she came from. It’s a reminder to acknowledge our own privilege and how we can make a difference in the communities around us. Read more about this celebrity at https://bit.ly/3c1bOw1
